About my practiceWho am I: I am in full time independent practice in Westfield, NJ. I've been licensed as a psychologist since 1978. In 1989, I was elected to the National Academies of Practice as a Distinguished Practitioner of Psychology. (To learn more about me, click on About Me.) Who do I treat?
How do I work? Because I believe that those who don't study history are destined to repeat it, my approach to psychotherapy is psychodynamic. That means that I believe that our early experiences and relationships influence the ways in which we approach life today, and that as we understand those experiences we are able to change the way we are now. How am I paid? Because I believe that managed care is far too intrusive into the psychotherapy process, I do not participate in any managed care panels. Consequently, my patient and I together make decisions about the frequency, length and duration of psychotherapy. I do help patients to file claims with fee-for-service insurance companies, or point-of-service programs. I am also a Medicare Provider. How can you reach me to arrange for a consultation or therapy? You can reach me on e-mail by going to Contact Me , or leave a voice message at 908-232-1951. I will get back to you as promptly as possible.
